Hosting Live Events
Carfest North
I’ve hosted Carfest alongside its creator Chris Evans for 8 years and my liver has paid the price. For two weekends a year - one up North, one down South - we work and play hard with the liveliest festival crowd in the country. I host three daily track shows, pretending to know about cars and introducing the drivers / owners / petrolheads to the 40,000 strong crowd.
Carfest South
Like the North, but in the south… This one is hosted at Jodie Scheckter’s Laverstoke Park.
Pub In The Park
This is a new venture, working for Brand Events, the wonderful (I have to say that) team responsible for Carfest. I interview chefs such as Rick Stein, James Martin and Monika Galetti, plus music stars, Gabrielle, Kaiser Chiefs, Sophie Ellis Bextor, The Feeling and Tom Odell.
The Henley Literary Festival
I love literary festivals. They pay me to read books and ask fascinating people anything I like on stage! I’ve worked at Henley for several years interviewing writers such as Kate Humble and Alex Gregory in 2018. I interviewed X-Factor’s Dermott O’Leary, cricketer Monty Panesar, Olympian Kelly Holmes, racing driver Jason Plato and firefighter Sabrina Cohen Hatten. .
The Cheltenham Literary Festival
The Summer of 2019 saw me heading to Cheltenham to interview three amazing women to a packed crowd at the main venue. Laura Prior-Palmer, Emily Chappel and Mimi Anderson are united by their ability to endure extreme physical challenges. Interviewing them was anything but.
The Yeovil Literary Festival
It's always fun to interview raconteur Jason Plato and I did so again in 2019 for his book, “How not to be a Professional Racing Driver,” this time at Yeovil’s Octagon Theatre, in front of a crowd who know their Touring Cars. The biggest challenge for us was how many swear words we could use in front of a gentile audience like Yeovil. They didn't kick us off stage so I guess we judged it about right.
The International Maternity Awards
Winter 2019 - It was a complete honour to host these awards in a room of people I admire: midwives, doulas and obstetricians who work tirelessly to support birthing women. On occasions like this, my two worlds of The Happy Birth Club and presenting merge perfectly.
